To where would you most like to stowaway?
I would stowaway to (luxury cruise stowaway) to Santorini. My minds eye has a very clear picture and I’ve made an effort not to look at pictures so that when I do arrive it will be like I’ve discovered it for the first time.
Who would you take with you?
Mary Portas – Style, whit, fun, dynamic and would never let me set a foot out without looking absolutely catwalk ready.
One essential piece of kit you cannot travel without, and why?
My wash bag is the most important piece of it… it has everything to transform myself, tweak and tidy myself after and during travelling.
What is your favourite STOW piece, and why?
My all time favourite piece is the World Class Tech Case. I am a stickler for being organised and having everything I need in one place, especially when I’m travelling for work. Its refined, feels great and always gives a great first impression.
What would you keep in your stowaway envelope?
My secret envelope would have a ticket, a ticket to anywhere at anytime. It can be for someone special I meet or myself when I need to escape in secret.
Luxury or practicality – which one are you?
Luxury. I enjoy life with all my senses so the feel, smell and appearance of my belongings have to excite me and visually stimulate. Saying that it has to perform and help me…. so can I have both please?
Best piece of travel attire to stay stylish when on the move?
A tailored jacket/blazer… nothing beats it every season.
How do you stay stylish when travelling?
I over-pack always, I cannot travel light but I do capsule my clothes into collections so that I can mix and match between them. This way I can have different looks for morning, afternoon and evening without being too greedy with my luggage allowance. Essentials are white t-shirts, a great quality white shirt, daytime and evening blazer, some colourful items when hitting a bar or club and hair/beard trimmer, product and clear face powder to keep the shine down.
Best piece of fashion advice you’ve received?
Spend more. Buy less and buy better quality pieces – Vivienne Westwood.
Who is your travel hero/heroine and why?
Michael Palin – I watched all of his travel series when I was young, his relaxed and approachable way of making travelling the glove planted the seed in me that gave me the joy and eagerness to travel.
Which luxury item can you not travel without?
My bespoke Eau de Toilette created just for me by Odette Toilette (Lizzie Ostrom). We worked together to curate a Sensorium at Tate Britain with other world leading sense experts. Lizzie creates smells and I taste. One piece of art, Bomberg’s “In the Hold” made my heart stop, but only when Odette had paired it with a specific scent to represent the Ships hold. I take this scent everywhere.
