Travel Talk with Friends of STOW: Daisy Knatchbull
STOW sits down to talk to Friend of STOW, Daisy Knatchbull, founder of The Deck London, the first female-only tailor to have a shopfront on Savile Row.
Where’s top of your travel wish-list and why?
Cuba – have always been desperate to go. I’ve heard it’s an unforgettable and unique experience.
Who would you take with you?
My sister
What’s one essential piece of kit you can’t travel without and why?
A battery pack – I am forever running out of battery on everything. And a cross
body phone case as my phone tends to wander when I’m travelling.
What’s your favourite STOW piece and why?
The See-View Leather Organisation Pouch. This is literally the dream for travelling – with all the new documents, covid test results and vaccinations certificates we need its very handy to have it all in one see through pouch!
Luxury or practicality – which one are you and why?
Can I say both? I think a bit of each is what everyone needs.
What’s the best piece of travel advice you’ve ever received?
You always need half the clothes you think you do. Still struggle with sticking to it - I am a terrible packer!
How do you stay stylish when travelling?
A cashmere tracksuit, good moisturiser, sunglasses for when you land (hopefully somewhere hot) – and of course great luggage!
How do you refresh body and mind when you travel?
Try and meditate on the plane if I can and also enjoy a bit of Netflix binge watching as I rarely get time to do during the craziness of everyday life so I find it very relaxing to switch off!
Which luxury item/s do you take on your travels?
A pillow with a silk pillowcase for long haul flights! Definitely a luxury.
What’s your top tip for travelling well?
Stay hydrated! I try and drink tons of water on flights. Helps the jet lag and leaves you feeling less exhausted and dried up when you land.
